A potted history
The business is based in a large converted barn on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and is run by Stuart & Maria Gledhill with help from a small but very dedicated team of staff. Stuart is the third generation "Dorothy Ward", the business having being started by his mother and grandmother together in a small workroom above Skipton High Street in 1949.
The Barn, which opened in 1967, boasts free parking right outside and once inside, hundreds of square feet packed with tempting goodies!
Our aim is to provide quality products that are out of the ordinary, coupled with the sort of friendly and courteous service that you won't find in the average High street store.
